Travel notes on the finished list
On the finished list the generator shows matching travel notes – depending on your destination and how you travel. You open both via an icon next to the pencil on the info block; if you change the destination (via the pencil icon), the notes update automatically.
Travel medicine notes
The generator shows you matching travel medicine notes. What is shown depends on your destination, the weather and the type of holiday.
What you see:
- Possible travel vaccinations, split into "recommended" and – expandable – "further possible vaccinations".
- The malaria risk of your destination in four levels (from "no risk" to "high risk") with a short classification.
- Travel first-aid topics such as sun or mosquito protection, depending on the destination.
- With several countries, the vaccination recommendations are merged and the highest malaria risk is shown.
- If you travel with children, a note is added to clarify vaccinations and malaria protection with a doctor in an age-appropriate way.
A stethoscope icon next to the pencil on the info block opens these notes as a drawer. The icon is always available; if there is nothing special for your trip, the drawer says so and shows only the general notes. If you change the destination (via the pencil icon), the recommendations update automatically.
Important: These notes are for orientation only and do not replace medical travel advice. They are based on the public recommendations of STIKO and DTG (for the English interface additionally CDC/WHO). Binding recommendations on vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis can only be given by a medical travel consultation. You find the full legal notice including sources (e.g. RKI/STIKO, DTG) in the expandable note.
Good to know: Notes can also appear for trips within Germany, e.g. sun protection in sunny weather or on a mountain/lake holiday. If there is nothing travel-medicine-related to note, the drawer tells you so explicitly.
Car travel notes
If you are travelling by vehicle, the generator additionally shows car travel notes on tolls, low-emission zones and documents. The block only appears if a vehicle context is recognisable – that is, if in step 4 ("How are you travelling?") you chose own car, caravan/motorhome, car passenger or motorcycle, or in step 5 chose motorhome/caravan as the accommodation. For other travel types (e.g. plane) it stays hidden.
What you see:
- Per country, short notes on tolls/vignette, low-emission zones and access rules (e.g. Crit'Air in France) and – where relevant – on the international driving permit.
- A short list of the important vehicle documents (driving licence, vehicle registration, proof of insurance).
- A transit note: on the way to your destination, rules may also apply in countries you pass through. If you haven't chosen a country yet, this note already appears as a general advance reminder.
- For countries without maintained detailed data, a general vehicle note as a fallback.
A car icon next to the pencil on the info block opens the notes as a drawer. It is also reachable as a car travel notes button in the list info (bottom left, next to the weight button). If you change the destination (via the pencil icon), the notes update automatically.
Important: The notes are meant as general orientation for cars, motorcycles and light camping vehicles and do not replace binding legal or traffic information. For vehicles over 3.5 t or with trailers, different rules may apply. Rules on tolls, low-emission zones and access restrictions can change at short notice – before your trip, check the current details with the official authorities of the respective country.
